SMART welcomes applications from talented and motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing research in motor control and learning. We offer a supportive and collaborative environment for graduate and undergraduate students, and other researchers who are interested in contributing to our research projects.

Graduate Students (PhD/MRes)

We are currently recruiting highly motivated and curious students who are interested in learning more about the brain and how humans acquire, adapt, and generalize an amazing repertoire of motor skills. My research is at the crossroads of neurophysiology, cognitive/computational neuroscience, and exercise science. Prospective students should have a strong academic record and experience with programming, experimental design, computational modelling, and/or statistics is desirable but not necessary -- a willingness to learn and a strong interest in the research we do is at least as important as the skills you walk in with.

Interested students should apply directly to the Department of Health Sciences at Macquarie University. Please read the university application process (https://www.mq.edu.au/research/phd-and-research-degrees/how-to-apply).

Competitive scholarships are available for high calibre domestic and international applications. For more information see https://www.mq.edu.au/research/phd-and-research-degrees/scholarships

Undergraduate Students:

We offer opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in our research projects as research placements or for academic credit. Interested students should email Dr Eugene Poh (eugene.poh@mq.edu.au) with a brief statement of their interests and availability.
